Backstory

This is me!

Hi, this is Sarah Applewood. I am a homemaker and a mother to two beautiful girls. When my eldest, Min, was born I observed the changes that had to be made to the house to accommodate her; during that time, I started writing about home interiors. From installing blinds to adding corner protectors to sharp edges, my husband, and I were occupied with an overwhelming number of tasks. The lack of guidance throughout the process led me to reflect on the helplessness of all first-time parents; hence the inception of Minimalist Knitter.

Fast forward to her 1st birthday, when she almost mastered her crawling skills, I was preparing for the small get-together to celebrate her big day. I had a handful of decor ideas going on in my mind but was not very keen on purchasing them. Instead, I decided to DIY – my first experience with handmade items.

Five years later: we are now a family of 4 with our newest member, little Kim. Since our family has grown in number, I thought that Minimalist Knitter should expand as well. As a result, my blog now touches upon different styles of interior designing, including DIY stuff – of course, we still explore new baby-related home changes.

So, welcome to my small world where you would get a peek at how despite being a homemaker, I have a full-time job caring for my kids and enlightening the average Joe on the cruciality of making the house a better place to live in. Besides exposing readers to effective ways of creating a positive environment inside the house through interior design, I also emphasize arts and crafts for home decoration.
